Dear NJIT Community Members,

Please see below a statement from the New Jersey Presidents' Council, which is comprised of the leaders of our state's colleges and universities, in support of Ukraine.

Sincerely,

New Jersey Presidents' Council Statement in Support of Ukraine

We, the members of the New Jersey Presidents’ Council, are outraged and deeply saddened about the horrific unprovoked attack on Ukraine and stand in solidarity with Ukrainians as they defend the sovereignty of their nation.

Dear NJIT Community Members,

NJIT will be commemorating Women’s History Month throughout the month of March and shining a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of women to our university and our world. It is important that we celebrate Women’s History Month in this way and embrace our responsibility, as a premier public polytechnic university, to cultivate future generations of women studying, researching, working in, and leading the STEM fields.

Dear NJIT Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Today marks the start of the fifth week of our spring semester and the third week of in-person instruction. I am pleased to report that our campus community is vibrant and thriving, with students and faculty in classrooms and labs, an abundance of activities and events, and a great deal of positive news to report.

Dear Student, Faculty, or Staff Member,

NJIT counts its diversity, of person and of thought, among its greatest strengths and seeks to foster an environment characterized by openness, fairness, and equal access for all. We endeavor to be a welcoming and inclusive campus with a culture grounded in mutual respect and nurtured by dialogue and civil interaction. This lies at the foundation of our educational model, so maintaining a respect for individual needs, abilities, and potential is critically important.

NJIT Community Members,

Welcome back to campus for the Fall 2021 semester! It has been quite some time since our university was operating at full capacity, and we are looking forward to the return of our vibrant campus community. As I noted in an earlier message, COVID will be with us for the foreseeable future, so we must continue to follow the protocols that we have put in place, but we are confident that NJIT has taken the steps necessary to create the safest possible living and learning environment for its students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Dear NJIT Community Members,

As we prepare to depart campus and begin our winter break, I would like to express my most sincere thanks for the manner in which students, faculty, staff, and others worked together and sacrificed for one another to ensure a safe and successful Fall 2021 semester.

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Next week, we will launch a critical component of the university’s strategic initiative to build NJIT’s reputation as a great place to work: a comprehensive employee satisfaction and engagement assessment by faculty and staff. I ask that you mark your calendars for May 14, when you will receive an electronic survey that should take you no more than 15 minutes to complete.

NJIT Community Members,

Today, many of us will have the opportunity to safely gather with family and friends as we mark the Memorial Day holiday and honor those who have died while serving in the U.S. military. That is the purpose of this holiday, so I would like to thank all NJIT’s veterans and current members of the Armed Forces for their service, courage, and selflessness.
