NJIT Community Members,

We are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins today and concludes on October 15, 2021. Diversity is among our university’s greatest strengths, as it is a key component of learning and innovation. Sharing varied backgrounds, cultures, life experiences, and perspectives informs our thinking and yields improved results.

NJIT Community Members,

Today, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a national holiday that honors the Reverend Dr. King for his immense contributions to the advancement of civil rights and equality in our country. This is a day when each of us should take time to reflect upon our history, our present, and the significant work that remains to be done to advance equality for all.

Last week, we began the spring semester using remote learning and operations wherever possible in order to mitigate the post-holiday spread of COVID on our campus. Next week, we will return to in-person classes and operations throughout our university, so I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all back to NJIT for the spring. In doing so, I also would like to recap some recent news and noteworthy accomplishments while highlighting a few upcoming milestones.

Black History Month is observed nationally throughout the month of February each year, and NJIT is proud to take this time to celebrate the impact of Black history on our university and our nation. The diversity of NJIT is among its greatest strengths, and the impact of Black culture and history on our university cannot be overstated.
