2022 was a year of growth, transformation and breakthroughs for NJIT and the Highlander community. Watch the video to look back at what we accomplished last year.

 

Bloomberg Businessweek hosts Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec took their show on the road and across the river to NJIT’s campus for a live panel show on sustainability.

The Green Energy and Climate Adaptation Panel featured Jonathan Menard, chief research officer at the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab; Dena Prastos, founder of Indigo River, an environmental consulting firm; and Dr. Som Mitra, distinguished professor of chemistry and environmental science at NJIT.

The 2022 Homecoming festivities at New Jersey Institute of Technology welcomed students, parents and alumni to an event-packed weekend that featured music, food, culture and plenty of Highlander spirit.

Homecoming kicked off Oct. 6 with a concert by Kenny Beats at the Wellness and Events Center. On Saturday Oct.8, the festivities included a BBQ and beer garden, carnival, a magic show by Mark Zacharia, a Hispanic Heritage Celebration that included a mariachi performance and closed with the men’s soccer team hosting New Hampshire.

Maple Hall, the new apartment-style residential building at NJIT, officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 29. The building has extensive amenities such as a well-equipped outdoor terrace, a videogame room, sustainable construction, numerous single rooms, kitchens with modern appliances, Manhattan skyline views and its own parking garage.

S&P Global Ratings has raised its financial outlook on New Jersey Institute of Technology, based on a “firmer enrollment trend and expectations of improved financial operating performance,” the rating agency said.

NJIT’s outlook is now “stable,” while the university’s long-term credit rating remains “A.”
