Dear NJIT Community Members,

NJIT is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month this October, and we recognize that diversity is among our university’s greatest strengths. It is a key component of learning and innovation, because hearing the perspectives of those with varied backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences informs our thinking and yields improved results.

Tomorrow, November 3, 2020, will conclude voting for the 2020 election that includes presidential candidates at the top of the ballot. All registered voters who have not yet cast their ballot can safely place it into a dropbox, return it to the county board of elections office or go to your polling location by 8 pm tomorrow. Provisional (paper ballots) also will be available at designated locations in every municipality on Election Day.

Dear NJIT Colleagues:

It is with great sadness that I share the loss of Maria Thérèse Nakhle-Deek, beloved mother of NJIT Senior Executive Vice President and Provost Fadi P. Deek `85, `86, `97. Maria Thérèse also was mother-in-law to Maura Deek `86 and grandmother to Matthew `11, Rebecca `16, and Andrew `13, whose wife, Michelle `18, also is an NJIT alumna.

Members of the NJIT Community,

I write today to thank you for your cooperation and support of NJIT’s pandemic recovery efforts and to announce that NJIT has made the decision to transition to fully remote instruction on November 30, following the Thanksgiving break. This mode of instruction will continue through the balance of the fall semester and is consistent with our Pandemic Recovery Plan.

Season's Greetings!

This may not be a traditional holiday season, but it remains a time to appreciate those things that bring true meaning to our lives — friends and loved ones, acts of caring for and supporting one another, and opportunities to positively affect the society and world in which we live.

We are fortunate, at NJIT, to be part of a special community that has met the challenges of 2020 with courage, creativity and determination.
