Dear NJIT Community Members,

As we begin the month of February, NJIT is proud to celebrate Black History Month. Diversity is among our university’s greatest strengths, and I encourage everytone to take advantage of the many opportunities we have created to expand our collective knowledge of and appreciation for a broad array of cultures and histories.

Each year, we plan educational, social, entertaining, and community building

NJIT community members,

The month of March, for more than 30 years, has been designated as Women’s History Month and is celebrated as a national tradition. At NJIT, we proudly participate in this opportunity to recognize the impact of women on our university, our society, and our world.

Dear Colleagues,

I am very pleased to announce that NJIT will participate in the 2020 Great Colleges to Work For Program. The Great Colleges to Work For Program provides senior-level administrators as well as academic leaders with insights regarding the quality of the workplace experience and the competitiveness of an institution’s policies and benefits.

NJIT Community Members,

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Dale A. McLeod as NJIT's new vice president for human resources, effective March 16. Dale will drive our efforts to deliver a world-class human resources function with a strong service orientation for faculty and staff while also supporting the objectives of the university’s new strategic plan, Building on a Strong Foundation–NJIT 2025.

NJIT Community Members,

This week marks the onset of Ramadan, a holy month observed by Muslims around the world through fasting, prayer, and reflection. So, during this challenging time, I would like to wish NJIT's Muslim community members and their loved ones a blessed Ramadan.

Sincerely,

NJIT President Joel S. Bloom

NJIT Community Members,

The COVID-19 global pandemic has resulted, to date, in the loss of almost 55,000 lives throughout the United States and more than 207,000 deaths around the world. Regrettably, those numbers continue to grow each day and will do so for the foreseeable future. The loss of life caused by this virus has been heart-wrenchingly tragic, and, most sadly, several members of our university community have lost family members or loved ones.
