In just three years, Marina Arrese ’21 earned a bachelor’s in business administration at New Jersey Institute of Technology, even while fencing, serving as co-president of the NJIT Investment Fund, working at the campus Financial Analysis Lab and serving on the Dean’s Executive Student Leadership Council. The Madrid native reflected on the chock-full experience and shared her future plans (hint: she’s staying in Newark) in an interview with NJIT.

Undergrads Suzanne Hlinka ’21 and Nada Boules ‘21 have been applying the skills in game development and interior design that they’ve picked up at NJIT, and Mother Earth is thanking them for it. This past year, the pair of students began artistic projects promoting a more sustainable planet, and now, their creative talents have been recognized with the “Jim Wise Scholarship for Theatre: Communicating the Environment Through Art.”
Each spring around Commencement, NJIT’s College of Science and Liberal Arts holds its very own celebration, awarding its standout student and faculty stars from across the college’s diverse academic spectrum of art, history and humanities to physics, biology and chemistry.
Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) and NJIT are now partners in education. The institutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), as well as two other agreements involving NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM), Oct. 25 in Beijing. Joel S. Bloom, NJIT president, and Jianyong Qiao, BUPT president, represented their respective universities, along with faculty and staff, at the signing.

Oct. 9, 2019 – New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has announced it is now offering a new way for students to connect with scholarship opportunities through the launch of ScholarshipUniverse — a “state-of-the-art digital scholarship-matching system aimed toward maximizing funding for students.”

Toni Vasquez-Shawan ’10 was in the sixth grade when she started her architecture career as a telephone receptionist at T.I. Vasquez Architects & Planners, Inc. (TVAP), a Manila-based architecture firm founded in 1993 by her father Topy Vasquez. The design bug bit her while accompanying Topy on a site visit. After graduating from the University of Santo Tomas in 2007 with a B.S. in architecture, she acquired a full-time position at TVAP, working under the supervision of a project architect.
This spring, NJIT’s 2018 College of Science and Liberal Arts Awards honored an exclusive group of its undergraduate and graduate seniors with the CSLA Outstanding Student Award — a distinction annually given to students who have demonstrated the highest level of excellence in their field.
