Of the 55 million students in Pakistan, only 11,000 manage to study in the United States each year. Muhammad Musa is one of them.

Now a second-year student majoring in financial technology and a member of NJIT’s Albert Dorman Honors College, Musa has become one of the most engaged students on campus, thriving across academics, leadership and mentorship.

Danna Valentina Sanchez Hernandez '25 took a big leap leaving her home country of Colombia to pursue her undergrad studies in the U.S., but that journey is paying off at NJIT — her research exploring the fluid dynamics and locomotion of marine life has recently led to a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship.

This year’s Goldwater class is comprised of just 438 scholars from across the U.S.

Continuing a trend, New Jersey Institute of Technology significantly improved its standing in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2024.

NJIT now finds itself in the top 25% of the more than 1,900 universities that Times Higher Education ranked globally (401-500) — up from the top third last year (601-800). Among U.S. universities, NJIT stands at No. 87, an improvement of 27 places from last year (114).

Anjali Khushalani worked in her native India as a project manager and process manager before arriving at New Jersey Institute of Technology last fall to pursue a master’s in engineering management.
