Volunteerism continues to be part of the foundation of NJIT. In 2019 alone, the university’s students contributed more than 67,000 hours of community service and gave their time to over 300 community-based organizations.
Jobseekers, get ready. Some 220 employers are scheduled to attend NJIT’s Spring 2020 Career Fair, to be held Feb. 26 at the university’s Wellness and Events Center. Recruitment for internships, co-ops and full-time positions will be the name of the game at the biannual event, which typically draws thousands of students and alumni in search of jobs.
According to NJIT Career Development Services’ most recent annual report, almost one-fifth of undergrads from the Class of 2018 who reported full-time employment indicated an NJIT career fair as their source.
That figure certainly demonstrates the value of students attending the fair, to both mingle with prospective employers and leave a lasting impression on recruiters. But vital to the mix in landing a position is preparedness.
Mechanical engineering major, Elijah Mathew, spent his summer interning with Stryker. Through NJIT's career fair, Elijah found the operations intern position and has earned a spot on the Top 100 Intern list on nationalinternday.com.
As the #NJITSummer comes to a close, so are the internships and research experiences that began just a few short months ago after school let out. The NJIT staff and faculty are proud to see our fellow Highlanders succeed through their internships and real-world experiences.

Madagascar
NJIT’s Career Development Services (CDS) paid tribute to an array of recruiting partners at its annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony, held April 2 in the Campus Center Atrium. There, CDS staff acknowledged the important relationship between the university and employers in advancing the professional success of NJIT students.
Daniel Young, a junior studying chemical engineering, has been declared Intern of the Year by Career Development Services (CDS) at NJIT. CDS held its second annual Interns of NJIT contest this past fall and selected Young in January. In addition to the title, he has received a $500 cash prize that will go toward his tuition.
It was a cold and windy Wednesday, but the winter weather didn’t stop the more than 2,200 students and alumni in search of internships, co-ops and full-time jobs from packing the Wellness and Events Center Feb. 13. There, 212 employers were recruiting for a range of positions — and doling out swag — at the Spring 2019 Career Fair, coordinated by NJIT’s Career Development Services.
The Wellness and Events Center at NJIT will be buzzing with recruitment activity Feb. 13 when employers and jobseekers convene for the Spring 2019 Career Fair.
