The NJIT women's basketball team made history Thursday evening, securing its first postseason victory with a 68–65 win over Merrimack in the opening round of the WNIT at Lawler Arena.

With the win, the Highlanders improved to a program-record 19 victories on the season. The mark surpasses the total achieved in the 2004-05 season.

NJIT secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Manhattan on Saturday in men's volleyball non-conference action at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.

NJIT's (10-5, 4-0 EIVA) efficient attack in the decisive fifth set, featuring an attack percentage of .412, played a crucial role in clinching the win.

The Highlanders won 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 18-25 and 15-11.

The NJIT men's basketball team wins sixth straight on the road against Maine, 67-58, and improve to 10-2 in America East play on Saturday afternoon.

The Highlanders opened the game on an 8-0 run in the first two and a half minutes of play before the Black Bears settled into their defense.

The Highlanders hot rand spanned across the first ten minutes of play as the team shot 9-10 from the field and 2-2 from deep to get the early lead.

The NJIT women's tennis team earned its first victory of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, defeating visiting Seton Hall, 5-2, in the Highlanders' home opener at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.

NJIT set the tone early by claiming the crucial doubles point and followed with strong performances across the top of the singles lineup and added a point at the sixth spot to secure the win. 

The victory marks a positive start to a home-heavy opening stretch of the spring season for NJIT.
