The architecture, engineering and construction industry is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by technological advancements reshaping how projects are designed, coordinated and executed. Three alumnae of New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design — Gayatri Desai ’14, Veronica Quintero ’07 and Alexandra Pollock ’03 — are leading this evolution.
New Jersey Institute of Technology ranks No. 36 nationally among the top 50 undergraduate schools for game design, according to The Princeton Review. That’s an improvement of 13 places from NJIT’s last ranking.
Regionally, NJIT also stands out, at No. 10 in the Northeast. The high marks support the latest findings of Animation Career Review, which ranks NJIT at No. 15 on the East Coast and No. 1 in New Jersey.
Bryan C. Lee Jr. ’08, an architect, educator and design justice advocate with a master’s in architecture from NJIT’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design, was recently named president of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA).
Lee is the founder and director of Colloqate Design, a nonprofit multidisciplinary design practice based in New Orleans. His appointment marks a significant milestone in NOMA's ongoing mission to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the architectural profession.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Research Coordination Network (RCN) on Urban Food, Energy and Water (Urban FEW) held one in a series of workshops on urban gardens at NJIT on November 21st and 22nd.
Students at NJIT’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design showcased their work in the Newark Zine Fest, organized by Petia Morozov, Newark Design Collaborative fellow and publisher of Dense Magazine, was held at the Newark Art Museum. Zines, short for "magazines" or "fanzines," are typically small-batch, self-published works that emphasize unique, personal or niche perspectives.
Krems, Austria — From July 15 to August 5, the city of Krems hosted an inspiring workshop entitled “Adapting Historic Public Spaces for a Digital Culture." This collaborative initiative, involving the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), the architecture network ORTE, and the AIR Lower Austria (Artist-in-Residence) program, brought together the city and community of Krems with 14 architecture students from NJIT's Hillier College of Architecture and Design.
