The Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) program at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) now ranks second in the nation, according to College Factual, an outcomes-based data analytics and research company.

NJIT jumped six places from last year, landing behind Georgia Tech (1) and ahead of MIT (3), on the list of the 206 programs evaluated. The university's CEE program ranked in the top 20 in numerous areas, including education for veterans, popularity and graduates’ earnings, among others.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), the only honor society to recognize outstanding academic achievement among first- and second-year college students, has designated the chapter at NJIT as a Silver Star Chapter for the 2017-2018 academic year. The acknowledgement distinguishes the chapter among the more than 320 NSCS chapters throughout the country, and stems from its leadership in implementing engaging, student-centered events both on campus and in the community.

PayScale has released their College ROI Report: Best Value Colleges for 2018 and once again NJIT has ranked among the top in terms of colleges that have a high return on their tuition dollars. NJIT ranked twice in the top 50 of the Best Value Colleges list: #35 for in-state and #49 for out-of-state. The report, which measures the return on tuition investment 20 years after graduation, provides median earnings data of workers who attended college versus earnings data of individuals who went straight into the work force.
