Dear Highlanders,

On this Memorial Day, as many of us gather with family and friends, let us also take time to honor those who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the United States military. That is the purpose of this holiday, and I would like to extend my unwavering gratitude to NJIT’s veterans and current members of the Armed Forces for their service, their courage, and their selflessness.

Dear Highlanders,

I am very pleased to announce that Dr. John A. Pelesko has accepted the opportunity to become NJIT’s next provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. John will assume his new post on August 1, 2023. Until then, Dr. Atam P. Dhawan will continue to serve as NJIT’s interim provost.

Dear Highlanders,

I would like to invite you to attend a town hall meeting on March 29, 2023, where Interim Provost and Senior Executive Vice President Atam Dhawan and I will take questions and share updates with the university community. The town hall will take place from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the Central King Building Agile Strategy Lab. Virtual attendance also will be accomodated via a Zoom link that will be shared as the event nears. Please save the date and join us on March 29.

Sincerely,

Dear Highlanders,

Each year in March, NJIT joins the nation in commemorating Women’s History Month while shining a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of women to our university and our world. As a premier public polytechnic university, it is particularly important that we embrace our responsibility to cultivate future generations of women studying, researching, working in, and leading the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) as well as architecture, design, management, and the other disciplines offered at NJIT.

Dear Highlanders,

Last November, faculty and staff were invited to participate in our first Gallup Q12 Employee Engagement Survey. The survey is a critical component of the university’s strategic initiative to continue making NJIT a best place to work. We truly appreciate everyone taking the time to contribute to this survey and to provide insight on our current environment.
