Black History Month
Dear Highlanders,
Dear Highlanders,
Dear Highlanders,
Before winter break commences, I want to provide an update on the process to evolve the current strategic plan, NJIT 2025.
Dear Highlanders,
Happy New Year! I hope you had an enjoyable winter break and holiday season. Before we become immersed in the new semester, I want to provide additional information on the process to evolve the current strategic plan, NJIT 2025.
Dear Highlanders,
Dear Highlanders,
I write today to inform you of a transition within the Office of Human Resources. Vice President Dale McLeod will be leaving NJIT as of February 24, 2023 to become Chief People Officer at Blue Meridian Partners, a pioneering and rapidly growing philanthropic organization with more than $3 billion in assets that identifies and funds scalable solutions to the problems that limit economic and social mobility for America’s young people and families in poverty.
Dear Highlanders,
Dear Highlanders,
It is incredibly exciting to write to you today as the 9th president of NJIT after officially beginning my tenure last week on July 1. I am humbled by this opportunity and very enthusiastic about the future of our university, and I would like to thank NJIT Board Chair Robert Cohen for his welcome message last week, which contained the following video with thoughts shared by Trustees, Overseers and others.
July 1 marks the first day of Dr. Teik C. Lim’s appointment as president of New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Dear NJIT Community Members,
Today we observe Juneteenth as a state and national holiday that celebrates and commemorates the day - June 19, 1865 - that Union General Goardon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announce that enslaved black people were free. In reflecting upon the importance of Juneteenth, we should consider the significance of that moment, which occurred more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, and how it serves as a reminder that, while we have made progress, we have much more work to do.
