What is the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII)?

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority has awarded the City of Newark a $100,000 grant as part of the second round of its Innovation Challenge.

Last fall, nine municipalities were awarded $100,000 each in the first wave of a program designed to encourage communities to strengthen local innovation ecosystems through partnerships with higher education institutions and other strategic partners.

New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), a New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) corporation, has signed an Industry Participation Agreement with Pall Corporation (Pall) to support the development of its BioPharmaceutical Innovation iLab.

The partnership will support two key centers at NJII that will advance the manufacturing of new cell and gene therapies: the Cell and Gene Therapy Development Center and the Center of Advanced Biologic Manufacturing.

The New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), an NJIT Corporation, hosted Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Director Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CEBR), Peter Marks M.D., Ph.D., at a roundtable with biopharma industry leaders in early December. The conference centered on leveraging city-university partnerships to deliver technology, data and analytics to local government and drive civic innovation.

Executive Women of New Jersey (EWNJ) honored Judith Sheft, associate vice president technology & enterprise development, New Jersey Innovation Institute at NJIT, alongside 31 of New Jersey’s most influential and accomplished women leaders including special guest honoree, first lady Tammy Snyder Murphy, at the organization’s signature biennial gala, Salute to the Policy Makers at The Palace at Somerset Park. Sheft was recognized for her trailblazing professional achievements and her efforts toward advancing women’s leadership.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast (BCONE) has awarded the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), an NJIT Corporation, a contract for the Planning and Coordination Services for the 2018 Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop to be held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, May 23, 2018.
