As the #NJITSummer comes to a close, so are the internships and research experiences that began just a few short months ago after school let out. The NJIT staff and faculty are proud to see our fellow Highlanders succeed through their internships and real-world experiences.

Here are some of our Highlanders that had a successful  #NJITSummer!

Like many young New Jersey commuters making the morning trek through the Lincoln Tunnel into New York City, Jenessey Amparo-Rosario Morel would shuffle through her phone’s music playlist to find familiar star names like Rihanna, Shakira and Jay-Z. However, for Morel, those particular popular artists would also become clients, and even her new boss, as she entered work for her first day of a three-month co-op role this past February.

The Wellness and Events Center at NJIT will be buzzing with recruitment activity Feb. 13 when employers and jobseekers convene for the Spring 2019 Career Fair. Gregory Mass, executive director of the university’s Career Development Services, noted that the 200 or so employers attending have been registered by design to meet both their needs and those of the students.

Nick Fuentes-Zuluaga was just 2 years old when he and his parents left their home in Bogota, Colombia, and migrated to the United States. They settled in Rockaway, N.J., with the aid of his aunt in nearby Parsippany and began a new life, far from the mounting violence triggered by their native country’s illegal drug trade.

On Sept. 26, Career Development Services (CDS) will host the Fall 2018 Career Fair — a gathering that will bring together hundreds of employers in search of talent and thousands of jobseekers looking for internship and co-op opportunities as well as full-time positions. The career fair returns to NJIT’s new Wellness and Events Center, which provides all attendees a modern, state-of-the art recruitment space in which to meet people and make contacts.
