Andrew Chegwidden '17 was recently named Young Professional of the Year by The Dewatering Institute (TDI) in recognition of his accomplishments in groundwater control. The award, which honors dewatering industry experts under the age of 35, was presented at TDI's annual conference on Nov. 12, 2025, at a ceremony held in Amsterdam. 

A new student persistence effort at NJIT caters to first- and second-year undergraduates from the City of Newark and provides them with mentoring, networking and scholarly skills.

The Newark Future STEM Leaders program, sponsored by The Prudential Foundation, saw about half of eligible students opt-in for the fall 2025 semester.

When Conor McCann looks back on his journey from NJIT to becoming a project architect at DMR Architects, one word stands out — foundation.

It’s the same concept he applies to every project he touches: a structure is only as strong as the foundation beneath it. For McCann, that foundation was built during five formative years at NJIT’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD), from 2015 to 2020.
