Today we celebrate Veterans Day, honoring those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
NJIT has an extensive history of partnership with the military. Thousands of our graduates and hundreds of our current students, as well as many faculty and staff, have served in the military. NJIT also has been home, since 1949, to Air Force ROTC Detachment 490, whose Aviation Technology Flight Simulator Lab I visited not long ago. We additionally support the U.S. military through research and technological innovation related to issues of national defense, security, resource management/resiliency, logistics and supply chain management, as well as the personnel safety and wellness of service members.
The sacrifices made by members of the military and their families on behalf of us all deserve our thanks, and I want to express my appreciation to all veterans for their service while extending a very special thank you to the NJIT community members who are veterans or are actively serving in our nation’s military.
